EPF Registration
A social security program called the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) assists workers in setting aside a modest percentage of their pay for future benefits. If a company employs more than 20 people, it must register for the EPF.
Overview
Every business with more than 20 workers is required to provide their staff with an Employee Provident Fund (EPF), which functions similarly to a retirement fund. An employer faces a fine of INR 5,000 if they do not register as an EPF employer or if they fabricate information to avoid paying the PF.
The Employee Provident Fund and Miscellaneous Provisions Act of 1952 established the EPF program. Employers with fewer than 20 workers may also choose to voluntarily apply for PF registration.
Each employee’s PF contribution should be 24% of his or her salary, of which 12% must come from the employee’s pay and the remaining 12% should come from the employer.
Benefits of Employee Provident Fund Registration
Protection Against Risk:
Covering employees’ and their families’ risks that may emerge from retirement or illness is the primary advantage of PF.
Consistent Account:
One of the most crucial features of a provident fund account is that it is stable and transportable. This implies that a worker’s PF account stays the same even if they switch jobs.
Employee Deposit-Linked Insurance Plan:
Anyone with a PF account is automatically qualified for this life insurance plan, which only requires a 0.5% wage deduction for premiums.
Extended Objectives:
When it comes to long-term objectives like purchasing a home or creating a fund for children, the PF account can be very beneficial.
